Disconnect a bank without deleting Banqa
- Open the connected account settings in Banqa.
- Select Disconnect bank and confirm.
- Where available, revoke the consent in the bank or finAPI connection flow as well.
Disconnecting stops future account-information retrieval. Banqa Free, budgets and manual tracking continue. Previously imported transactions remain until you delete them or delete the account.
Request complete account deletion
- Email support@banqa.app.
- State clearly that you want the account and associated personal data deleted.
- Complete proportionate identity verification if requested. Never send bank passwords, PINs or authentication codes.
- Banqa will confirm when the request is complete or explain any lawful retention that remains.
An in-app deletion control is a required production feature. Until it is available, the email process is the official deletion method.
Data covered by deletion
- Account profile and preferences.
- Manual and imported transactions stored by Banqa.
- Main and category budgets, goals, categories and progress.
- Questionnaire answers and AI-coach configuration.
- Stored bank-connection references under Banqa’s control.
- Optional uploaded photos and affordability requests, if that feature has been released and used.
- Application data not required for a continuing legal, security or dispute purpose.
Data that may be retained
Deletion is not absolute where law requires or permits limited retention. Banqa may retain billing, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, consent, complaint or legal-claim records for the applicable statutory period. These records are restricted and are not used to continue the deleted service.
Backups are not used as active user records and expire through the normal backup cycle. A regulated bank or open-banking provider is independently responsible for records it must retain; Banqa will identify that provider so you can address a separate request where necessary.
Identity checks and timing
Banqa will respond without undue delay and normally within one month of a valid GDPR request. The period may be extended by up to two additional months for a complex or numerous request; if so, you will be told why within the first month.
Requests may be refused or charged only where GDPR permits, such as a manifestly unfounded or excessive request. You may complain to the relevant data-protection authority if you disagree.
Deleting data and cancelling payment
Deleting a Banqa account ends Banqa access, but an App Store or Google Play subscription may be administered by the store. Cancel that subscription in the store account to prevent renewal. A web subscription should be cancelled in Banqa before deletion. Contact Support if the account has already been removed.
